Scripture John 9: 1-17

Devotion A man born blind, he never knew what the world saw, he didn't miss what he had never seen. My grandfather was born blind, my mother was born blind, my grandson was born blind. It must have been God's will. The doctors could not restore their sight. There was no cure for them. This is what the man in the scripture faced also. God put this man, in this place, to magnify His glory. Let me share part of a poem that my grandson received while attending the Braille School in Vinton.
I long for you to see: When you long for me to see, remember all that I can do and that I did not choose to live in darkness. I long for you to see the joy you have added to my life, to see my face simply beam with pride: When you long for me to see your smile, know that I can feel your love through your gentle touch, that your laughter is music to my ears, and remember that I did not choose to live in darkness. I long for you to see: When you long for me to see remember that I do not miss what I have never known. I experience life to its fullness, only through the senses God has given me. remember that I did not choose to live in darkness..I was chosen. Chosen by God...this is the miracle of Easter, to be the chosen children of God through the death and resurrection of Jesus and to see all the glory therein.

Prayer Gracious, Heavenly Father, we thank you and praise you for loving us enough to Choose us, to be your children. Help us, Lord to be faithful and willing to choose you, so we too may see as the blind beggar whose faith was strong.
