John 4: 1-26
Devotion
This is another familiar story; The Woman at the Well. When we hear these stories we often think that they have nothing new to teach us. Perhaps we need a refresher course or reminder that we can always learn or remember something from them.
We know that Jesus and the woman were from different groups who generally didn’t associate with one another. Do we often pass up the chance to learn from someone who has a different background or opinion? In this story the woman listens to what Jesus has to tell her and shares the Good News with others. Perhaps if we would do the same we would find “the living water” that Jesus promises.
Prayer
Dear Lord, help us to be open to new ideas and people. Help us to really listen so that we can learn and find the “living water.” Amen.
