Scripture
Romans 8: 1-11

Devotion
To me, at least it really touches my heart. It talks about sins and people who sin and don’t pray to be forgiven. For me I know I make mistakes. But I try hard to fix my mistakes. I would rather live a life of sinning and being forgave then thinking I’m perfect and don’t make mistakes. Because I believe that everyone who believes in God and asks for forgiveness should be forgave. I love Jesus!

Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven…..forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us…..Amen.

Scripture
John 19: 38-42

Devotion
The Burial of Jesus
Nicodemus took Jesus’ body and wrapped it. At the place where Jesus was crucified there was a garden. He was wrapped in stuff, spices and strips of linen. Joseph asked Pilate for the body of Jesus. Jesus was laid in the tomb. Nicodemus went to see Jesus everyday. Nicodemus brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes about seventy five pounds.

Prayer
Help us to be faithful and show our love for you as Joseph and Nicodemus did. Amen.

Scripture
John 17: 1-11

Devotion
Jesus wants nothing more than our being one with god, as he is one with God. His petition to the Father was, "Holy Father, protect them in your name that you have given me, so that they may be one, as we are one."
It is good, knowing God brings us to Christ, and protects us--all that we may be one with Him. It is comforting knowing Jesus is our advocate.

Prayer
Lord, keep us safe in all things. Make us one with you. In Jesus name, amen.

Scripture
John 12: 27-36

Devotion
It is saying that God needs to save the world. Then a voice came from heaven and said that he has glorified it and did it again. The prince of darkness will be kicked out. And when he (Jesus) died he will draw all men that believed to his side.
The Son of Man will be lifted up so the Son of Man is Jesus. And that you will have the light a little while longer and the light is God.
Follow the light before darkness takes you over.
Put your trust in the light while you have it.

Prayer
Light of the World, help us to walk in your light. Amen.

Scripture John 12: 20-26

Devotion
In this scripture, Jesus predicts his death. It is kind of like this big tree in a forest, and someone cuts it down, so that all of the little trees can grow tall and get more light. That is sort of like Jesus sacrificing himself for us. When we give something up for Lent, it’s like Jesus giving himself up for us.

Prayer
Lord, thank you for trees and all of creation. Thank you for your Son, Jesus Christ who gave up his life for us and in whose name we pray. Amen.

Scripture
John 12: 9-19

Devotion
A large crowd of Jews found out that Jesus had raised Lazarus and came to see. and the chief priests planned to kill Lazarus so the Jews put their faith on Jesus. The next day Jesus was going to Jerusalem so the Jews came out and shouted Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Blessed is the King of Israel. Then the disciples had to take a letter to Daughter of Zion. The crowds started to get bigger as the word spread. The Lazarus came up from the dead. Now we can believe he is God.

Prayer
Heavenly father, with you all things are possible. Praise your holy name! Amen.

Scripture
Matthew 21: 12-17

Devotion
Jesus' words in this scripture reading are a bit scary. If you are a new Christian, you might think "What am I getting into"; but as we all continue to study the life of Jesus and learn of the eternal love and protection of God, we see that these words are but another promise that we will neved be alone. This world is not "our home", to quote a gospel song; we are merely visitors here and there are many other visitors that try to lead us away from the narrow path to our true home. These are the people Jesus talked about in today's scripture reading. Not only do they want us to follow them, they will be "seriously mean" to us if we don't. But friends, hold fast to the promise that we will never be alone. The reward for standing firm in your faith, is eternal life in a home so glorious that we can't even imagine what it will be like.

Prayer
Holy, Awesome, Wonderful, Father in Heaven, give us strength to stand firm in our faith. Help us to feel your presence in all we do and say. Lead us to the narrow path that ends with life in your Kingdom. In Jesus name we ask these things. Amen.
